The Tamal Font

The Tamal font is required to read the diacritics on files that have them; otherwise, the diacritics will appear as gibberish. The diacritics fonts that come with the Vedabase, such as the Balaram font, will also work, but using them will require a manual substitution.

The Tamal font is also used for reading files with diacritics directly on your web browser.

The files listed below do not require the Tamal font unless otherwise specified.

TKG in Italy
From Gadadhara das
Posted October 1, 2003

Dear disciples, friends, and well-wishers of H.H. Tamal Krishna Maharaja,

My name is Gadadhara das, and I was in the Florence Gurukula in the '80s. My father, Sevananda das, was one of the photographers of Villa Vrindavana. In the beginning of the '80s my father took some pictures of Maharaja in Italy. We have just recently found these beautiful pictures, and we thought it would be nice to share them with all of the devotees. I hope you will greatly enjoy Maharaja's association through these pictures.

The Prominent Link:
A Response by the
Sastric Advisory Council

Posted March 31, 2003

For Downloading

A surface reading of PL suggests that the author is just saying "let’s put Srila Prabhupada in the center," which is, of course, something everyone in ISKCON will support....

Unfortunately, that is not all that the author is saying. This fact may not be apparent, however, to those who do not read PL carefully. In our deliberations, we found that because the author consciously avoided using the standard siksa- and diksa-guru terminology, a terminology given to us by Srila Prabhupada and the previous acaryas, it was difficult to understand the full implications of his statements in PL.
