Time to RetireBy Umapati SwamiPosted Oct 8, 2005I am sure most of you have noticed that I am no longer able to keep up with the posting on Dipika. I am traveling more and more, and it is impossible to manage a news site from the road. What's more, I am pushing 70, and old age is coming upon me with force. So I have decided to devote my time to writing and preaching and to leave the news to someone who is younger and has more time for the service. I will leave Dipika on the net for reference, but I will not be posting any more. I have tried to set the example for what I think a news site should be, and if anyone would like to take up the service, I will be happy to offer the benefit of my experience as an editor and as a webmaster. I apologize for all the articles that did not get posted, and I offer my thanks to all the readers of Dipika. It has been a lot of fun. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Your servant, © dipika.org Oct 8, 2005 Kusakratha Prabhu DepartsFrom an e-mail by Dhananjaya dasPosted Oct 8, 2005Dear Hari Sauri Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I want to inform you that our dear Godbrother Kusakratha Prabhu left this afternoon at 8 minutes before 4 p.m., that is at 3:52 p.m. on 7-10-2005 in MVT flat number B14.101, Padma Sambhava's flat. He passed away very peacefully in the presence of Aindra Prabhu and his kirtan group and other assembled Vaishnavas who were chanting the Maha Mantra very sweetly. In the article "Ludhiana Ratha-Yatra," the date was incorrectly given as October 15, 2002. It should be October 15, 2005. The article has been amended.
Sep 15, USA— The Temporary Vrndavan Hospice Fund is working. We have already begun sending monthly funds and supplies to Vrndavan for the care of Kusakrata Prabhu. We have been in contact with Vaishnavas Care (Sangita Prabhu) and have given her my official word that any unused funds will go into her capable hands towards the eventual permanent hospice already being built in Vrndavan.
Dear Devotees,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
It is our pleasure to inform all the devotees that on December 5, 2005, another Pada Padma course will begin in VIHE, Vrindavan. It is the overview of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Cantos 1 and 2, as part of the Bhakti Vaibhava course in-depth study of the Bhagavatam.

Firecrackers will be set off at the end.
Govinda's Restaurant in downtown Newcastle (Australia) is now conducting interviews for full-time cooks, preferably husband and wife without children. The restaurant caters to the large student community at the local university and serves both vegan and vegetarian prasadam.
Hare Krishna! Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
The Cleveland Nama Hatta Program will hold its sixth annual Halloween Harinam in Kent, Ohio, on October 29, 2005, at 8 pm. The group will meet at the corner of Water and Main Streets in downtown Kent.
The two devotees caring for Kusakratha Prabhu in his last days are both ill and need your help. Would anyone available to give a small helping hand running errands, or in any small manner, please come forward.
There are many devotees visiting Vrndavan for Kartik as well as many who live there.

Hare Krsna. The day on which we celebrate the appearance of Balarama is also the day that Krsna chastised the Kaliya serpent. On this day, so many hundreds of years ago, Krsna went to the Yamuna to herd the cows without His elder brother, who had stayed at home to observe ceremonies connected to His birthday.

Kusakratha prabhu called the "Goloka Airlines" hospice staff here at terminal 108, MVT (Mayapur-Vrndavana Trust Guesthouse) in Vrindavan last month. He has finally collapsed and is finally accepting seva from the devotees here. He is bedridden and only skin and bones.
Because he took no chemotherapy he is actually doing pretty well—mentally sharp as a tack and still doing some poetry.

"Dreams Coming True"
After the difficulties we went through on July 7, I started having nightmares every night. One evening, after a week, I talked about it with Sri Prahlada das. "It's been a long time since I had a Krsna conscious dream," I said. "Since the tour started in May, I've only been dreaming of war or being chased or having to hide. I know it's the result of preaching in a society often opposed to what we do, but I wish there were some relief, at least in sleep."
"I know how you feel," said Sri Prahlada. "I've been having some bad dreams lately as well, but things will change when we go to the Woodstock festival in a couple of weeks."
All Glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga!

Dear Kusakratha Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I am very sorry to hear that you are facing more complications with regard to your physical body. You are using this devastating illness to show the world how to be a surrendered soul of Sri Sri Krsna-Balarama.

Hare Krsna! Please accept my sincere respects and good wishes.
The tragic killer hurricane that devastated the Mississippi and Louisiana coastlines also left its mark on New Talavan and the cow protection program.
Although the cowherd survived the storm, the future is questionable. Downed fences are the biggest problem. Because so many trees were blown over, naturally many fell on fences and houses. Consequently, our fence system suffered much damage.
